About Joshua

I am a first year engineering student aged 19(as of 2019) who has done college level chemistry, maths and physics and is now developing an engineering background. I have some experience as a solo sports coach for people between the ages of 12 and 17. I have been in leadership positions and believe I am good at communication and empathy for those developing new understanding.

About the lesson

My teaching method is in the majority of situations...

- Identify extent of understanding and have them walk me through what they think approaching the problem should look like(this gives a good understanding of what misconceptions or lack of knowledge they may have in particular areas)

- If necessary go back over some fundamental ideas. Then take them through the method step by step. Then have them repeat.

- Most importantly once they can duplicate a result have them explain why. Being able to explain a concept means that links to prior understanding have been create and true learning has been achieved.
