About Jaye

I have been a private tutor for eleven years, teaching over 150 students in Australia, the UK, India, Spain, Thailand, China, and Turkey. I have valid WWCC and DBS checks. My business is carbon neutral and the website is here: (concealed information) I have a Bachelor’s Degree in International and Global Relations from the University of Sydney and a Master's Degree in Non-For-Profit Management from UTS, both with distinction averages. I am currently applying for a PhD in Ethics & Technology. I speak Spanish, advanced French, Portuguese, and Turkish, and basic Italian. I have also worked and volunteered in the humanitarian and development sector for ten years, working with organizations such as the UN & Red Cross. Currently, I am Head of Content & Lead Editor for Polis Analysis, a London-based political analysis startup. Across this work, my focus has primarily been refugee and asylum seeker issues, climate change, technology, and education.

I have a broad background in NGO work, having worked and volunteered in our sector for ten years across seven countries, as well as a Master's in NGO Management and Social Enterprise from the University of Technology, Sydney. I combine this with ten years of experience as a private tutor. I aim to structure all my lessons to broaden my student's worldview, challenge their assumptions, and test the logic of their arguments. I am able to bring a unique synthesis of perspectives to all my lessons to help my students use NGO management theories to analyze current issues and trends in the sector. I also have a strong background in essay writing and logic, which I use to help test and strengthen the theses of their essays. As this is an ever-evolving field, I feel learning is very much a two-way process, and I try to use dialogue, discussion, and contextual materials and examples to build the student's understanding. I really enjoy this field and try to bring my enthusiasm, knowledge, and experience to every class I teach. I see the most substantial and sustained improvement when I work with students for 1-3 hours a week, for a minimum of 2-3 months. With 2-3 months, I generally start to see my students improve. With 6 months, it seems this improvement becomes more substantial and long-lasting. I always prioritize the safety and mental well-being of the student.
