About Mia

Hi my name is Mia! I'm Singaporean Australian and recently completed my VCE studies, I am looking to do tutoring while I study two bachelors degrees of Chemical Engineering and Pharmaceutical Sciences in University. I can confidently teach VCE Business Management and I have a plethora of resources including notes, diagrams and slides that I will provide each lesson which my students can save to their own laptop for their own use.
I am very patient and understanding as a result of my frequent babysitting duties of neighbourhood children and I have a clear and detailed explanation which I can confidently manoeuvre to address the different learning styles of each individual in order to communicate key ideas effectively to students.
I can also help out with questions in Chemistry and English as I took both subjects and received study scores of 42 and 45 respectively.
I am also comfortable with providing guidance surrounding VCE exams, study habits and planning for university.
Other than this I am fluent in both English, Indonesian and Malay and can teach in any of the language.

About the lesson

My lessons will be held online and the timings are flexible as I am willing to cater to different students availability.

I will provide notes and summary sheets as well as diagrams and slide shows which students will receive in an email prior to the lesson, giving them the opportunity to download and look through the material at their own pace prior to and post lesson.

I will also provide practice questions and sheets that detail how marks are awarded based on question words and structure of responses.

Every lesson I will start by asking for a recap of the classes covered in school in order to align my teachings so that it is relevant to the upcoming SACS and tests that will be held at school.

I will give out homework at the end of each tutoring lesson which will take no longer than 1 hour to complete in order for students to consolidate their learning with me in their own time and make sure that they are doing some revision for the subject outside of school.

Mia is really smart and chill and she has like alot of presentations and teaching materials I can use when I study, shes really nice too, and she always checks in during the week if i have any troubles with topics at school and if i dont know how to do my homework she helps me in our class if i ask. Wonderful and polite tutor, very soft spoken and professional. My daughter is very shy and was struggling to ask her teacher for help in class, but felt very comfortable asking Mia. She clearly helped explain tough concepts like percentage conversions and helped my daughter achieve well above average for her NAPLAN. Will be having her as a long term tutor for my daughter!
