About Helen
Eclectic background as have studied English Literature, Philosophy, Ancient History, Art History, Painting. I have worked in many different occupations including teaching. I started as a nurse, then an office worker and then went back to study as an adult.

Experience in teaching VCE English, developing both text response and persuasive language essay analysis and writing skills, building vocabulary and metalanguage, developing an understanding of issues and argument analysis.
I explicitly teach a specific skill by modeling it to students where we work together asking questions, then student completes a practice of the skill independently, I mark then give positive feedback to student outlining in detail areas from improvement. This has worked for students who have shown improvement in their SACs and have achieved ATAR score to enable university entry.
