About Roger
With more than 25 years of professional experience in engineering, electromechanics, technical services, maintenance, and training, I bring to my lessons a combination of strong technical knowledge, extensive field experience, and a genuine passion for teaching.
Throughout my career, I have worked with complex electrical and mechanical systems, particularly in industrial electricity, electromechanics, diesel generator sets, electrical machines, maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical management. I have also held leadership positions where I supervised technical teams and helped technicians develop their professional skills.
In addition to my industrial experience, I have experience as a university instructor and technical trainer. This allows me to understand both sides of learning: the academic requirements students must meet and the practical skills they need to succeed in the workplace.
My teaching style is patient, structured, practical, and respectful. I believe there is no such thing as a “bad question.” When a concept is difficult, I approach it differently—using a simpler explanation, a diagram, an analogy, a calculation, or a real-world example—until the student understands it.
I particularly enjoy helping students bridge the gap between theory and practice. Instead of simply memorizing formulas, my students learn what the formulas mean, when to use them, and how engineering principles apply to real equipment and real technical problems.
Whether you are a vocational student, technician, college or university student, an adult returning to school, or a professional looking to strengthen your technical knowledge, I will adapt the lessons to your level, objectives, and learning pace.
My goal is simple: to help you understand, build confidence, and progressively become capable of solving technical problems independently.

My Teaching Approach
My approach as a tutor is based on a simple principle: students understand and remember better when they can connect theory to real situations. With my background in engineering, technical training, and university teaching, I combine academic knowledge with practical examples drawn from industry.
Teaching Methodology and Techniques
I use a learner-centered and problem-solving approach, adapting each lesson to the student's level, objectives, and learning pace.
My teaching methods include:
Explaining complex concepts in simple, progressive steps.
Using the Feynman method: understand a concept, explain it in simple language, identify gaps, and reinforce them.
Connecting theory with real-life technical and industrial applications.
Using diagrams, calculations, demonstrations, case studies, and troubleshooting exercises.
Encouraging students to reason and find solutions rather than simply memorize formulas.
Using frequent questions and short exercises to verify understanding.
Reviewing mistakes as learning opportunities and explaining not only the correct answer, but also why it is correct.
