About Jolie

Understanding the fundamentals of music and key techniques of playing the violin is very important to me as it enhances the enjoyment in playing music and makes one sound better too. I can offer very fun and interactive music and theory classes for little kids who just started playing or are trying to get into it! (The beginnings of learning the violin and keeping up with school orchestras can be extremely frustrating and tough but I am here to help! Trust me I've been there:))

More about my music experience, I am passionate about playing the violin and still am an active in playing in the UNSW Orchestra. (We recently performed Listz- Les Preludes and Borodin- Prince Igor!) I have finished ABRSM Grade 8 and am qualified in Grade 6 Theory. I have been in various orchestras since and have played in productions in high school as main violinist! (eg. Addams Family!) Other than that, I've also done many performances throughout my music life and continue to learn and improve my skills! (My personal favourite: Meditation by Thais~)

As for my teaching skills, I have tutored math and english to little kids in different non-profit organisations for a few years! I love sharing my knowledge and skills with kids and love the satisfaction when they enjoy the classes I give as well as understand the content I am giving them.(They get very happy when I draw a star on their paper:)) I am very patient in teaching as I understand how hard it is to get concepts and am not one to give up!

About the lesson

Hi! My name is Jolie Tai and play the violin. I would love to share my love for music and violin through teaching violin lessons for young players who are interested! (beginners and intermediate). I have been playing the violin since I was 8 and am currently am studying in univerisity here in Sydney!

*Free 20 minute trial lesson

*30 minutes ($30-$40)

*1 Hour ($60-$80)

(Rates of my tutoring would depend on the level and skill your child already has)

*30 minutes- 1 Hour per class (per week) -> effective time span for younger players as having more practice time is better for long term improvement!

Regarding how my classes would work, I can send an initial schedule and class plan for the first 2 weeks for you to gauge the style of classes. I am able to travel to wherever is comfortable for you (though 1 on 1 in-person classes is preferable for most effective learning!)
