About Ruby

I hold a Bachelor’s in Classical Violin and Music Performance and have 7 years of experience teaching students of varying ages and abilities. My teaching philosophy combines technical development with expressive exploration, helping learners build confidence while developing their unique musical voice. I focus on structured, adaptable instruction that balances skill-building, repertoire study, and performance practice.

In my lessons, I emphasize bowing techniques, fingering accuracy, tone production, sight-reading, and interpretive skills. I incorporate individualized exercises, feedback, and creative activities to reinforce learning while keeping students motivated and engaged. My aim is to cultivate disciplined, expressive, and confident violinists.

Outside teaching, I perform regularly, attend masterclasses, and study both classical and contemporary repertoire to enhance my instruction. Witnessing students progress from foundational skill-building to expressive performance is deeply rewarding, and I am dedicated to guiding each learner through a fulfilling musical journey.

Beginners focus on posture, open string exercises, simple scales, note reading, and basic repertoire to establish a solid foundation. Intermediate learners develop advanced fingering, bowing techniques, vibrato, scale fluency, and performance practices to enhance technical and expressive capabilities. Advanced learners focus on complex repertoire, stylistic interpretation, ensemble performance, and audition preparation, with tailored guidance to strengthen confidence and musical expression.

Violin lessons also cultivate patience, focus, and musical sensitivity. Students gain self-discipline, develop listening skills, and learn to communicate through the instrument. I provide constructive feedback, personalized exercises, and performance guidance to ensure each learner progresses steadily. My goal is to nurture both skill and artistry so students can perform with clarity, confidence, and authentic musical expression.
