About Dorian
Hi, I’m a violin tutor with 10 years of experience and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Violin Performance. I’ve worked with students of all ages and levels, both in person and online. Over the years, I’ve developed a digital teaching approach that makes remote learning effective, engaging, and personal. I use tools like virtual sheet music, backing tracks, metronome apps, and video feedback to create a rich and interactive lesson experience. These resources help students stay motivated and supported between sessions. I pay close attention to tone and posture, offering clear, real-time adjustments even through a screen. With online students, I focus on developing strong fundamentals while also encouraging musical expression. My approach combines structure with flexibility so that each student feels both challenged and encouraged. I’ve taught learners across different time zones and learning styles, always adapting to what they need most. Whether you’re returning to the violin or just starting out, I’ll help you make steady, joyful progress right from where you are.

My teaching approach is centered on helping students gently reconnect with the violin after time away. I understand that returning to music can bring both excitement and hesitation, and I meet each student with patience and encouragement. Whether it’s been months or years, we start exactly where you are, not where you think you should be.
I focus on tone rebuilding, confidence restoration, and renewing your motivation to play. Lessons often begin with open string warm ups and slow scale meditation, allowing your hands and ears to realign with the instrument. These simple yet powerful exercises create a space for calm focus and steady progress.
I also support students dealing with performance anxiety, self doubt, or emotional blocks around music. Through consistent, compassionate feedback, we build mental readiness and trust in your playing again. Every step is guided, never rushed.
