About Michael

I’m a resident doctor and violin teacher, but first of all I'm a bro.

I believe in patience, structure, and attention to detail.

I don’t expect students to be perfect or “naturally talented.” Most of the time, progress comes from small corrections done consistently. My job is to help you see those details clearly and guide you through them without confusion.

I’m hands-on during lessons. If something needs fixing, I’ll point it out, but always in a way that helps you understand what to adjust and how to improve it. No unnecessary pressure—just clear direction.

Everyone learns differently. Some students pick things up quickly, others need more time to let things settle. I adjust to that pace while still keeping a steady forward movement. The goal is progress, not perfection on day one.

I’ve worked with beginners and returning students, both kids and adults. What I value most is consistency and willingness to improve week by week. If that’s there, the rest can be built.

About the lesson

I teach violin in a structured, no-nonsense way that focuses on real progress, not just random practice or endless repetition. Most beginners get stuck because they don’t know what to work on or how to fix mistakes... I make sure that doesn’t happen!

I’m also a resident doctor, so I’m used to breaking complicated things into clear steps and building systems that actually work. I teach violin the same way: simple structure, clear goals, and consistent improvement.

A typical lesson starts by fixing fundamentals first — like posture, bow control, finger placement, intonation. If those are off, everything else falls apart, so we deal with them early and properly. Then we move into focused exercises depending on the student’s level: scales, rhythm work, coordination, or specific technical issues. After that, we apply everything directly to pieces so it actually sticks.

I don’t leave students guessing what to do after class. Every lesson ends with a clear practice plan—what to do, how long to do it, and what to focus on. If you follow it, you improve. Simple as that.

What makes my approach different is that I don’t overcomplicate things or throw random exercises at you. Everything is intentional and built around steady, measurable progress. I’d rather fix one real problem properly than pretend progress is happening.

I work with complete beginners, intermediate players, and people who played before but got stuck and want to rebuild properly. I adapt to kids, teens, and adults depending on their level and goals. I'm fully locked in and ready to take you into the trenches of violin mastery!
