About Joann

Singing came to me via the long way round after a career that had nothing to do with teaching. Attempting a song badly in front of me is far better than performing it perfectly alone. My role as the busking to cafe gig transition coach focuses on vocal health and care alongside range extension.

I help students navigate head and chest voice, harmony singing, and tone and resonance. Mastering rhythm and phrasing takes time. I hold a degree earned through 10 years of gigging across Melbourne open mic scenes. Reach out if you want to find your groove.

About the lesson

Throat tightness often stops progress when you try to hit those difficult notes. Sitting at the piano, we strip back the tension to find a sound that actually works for your unique anatomy.

My 10 years of gigging inform how I troubleshoot your performance in real time. We spend our 8 sessions refining your control through specific technical adjustments.

I provide recorded warm-up routines shared for daily home practice to keep you consistent. My 6.0 rating reflects a focus on building genuine, lasting vocal stamina. I aim for the point where my job becomes redundant. Let me know when you are ready to start.
