About Sarah

Sarah is a dedicated and engaging music and performing arts educator whose warmth and presence create a positive and inspiring learning environment for every student.

She holds a Bachelor of Music (Performance) from the University of Melbourne, alongside ABRSM Grade 8 Piano and Grade 5 Music Theory qualifications, and is currently undertaking a Master of Teaching, together brings over 20 years of experience in music and the performing arts.

Sarah began her artistic journey at the age of three and has trained across China, New Zealand, and Australia, shaping a culturally informed and versatile approach to music education. Throughout her studies, she has worked with a wide range of respected educators, gaining insight into diverse and contemporary teaching practices.

As a big-voice lyrical soprano with a refined artistic sensibility, Sarah demonstrates a strong and intuitive understanding of musical expression across multiple disciplines, including piano, voice, dance, drama, and music theatre. Her work is characterised by a keen sensitivity to phrasing, tone colour, and emotional nuance, allowing her to engage with music beyond a purely technical level. This depth of musicianship informs her teaching, where she supports students not only in developing technical skills, but also in cultivating artistic awareness, interpretative insight, and expressive confidence.

Sarah particularly enjoys working with young learners. She approaches teaching as a collaborative process, where students are supported to build confidence, develop musical understanding, and find enjoyment in their learning. Her teaching is characterised by patience, clarity, and encouragement, creating a space where students feel comfortable to explore and grow.

About the lesson

Sarah offers personalised piano and vocal lessons (classical and contemporary) at her studio in Blackburn, Melbourne. Her teaching emphasises technical development, musical expression, and a student-centred approach, supporting both creativity and confidence.

Lessons are available in 30, 45, or 60-minute sessions and are carefully tailored to each student’s age, level, and goals, ensuring steady progress alongside an enjoyable learning experience.

Sarah welcomes students aged 6 to 18, from beginners to advanced. She has a particular affinity for working with young learners, creating a supportive and encouraging environment where students can develop their skills, build confidence, and cultivate a lasting connection with music.
