• When did you first develop a passion for music and your favourite instrument?

  My passion began at a very young age, since the age of 5 I would walk around dancing and singing through the entire house performing for the wall and anyone or thing that would listen. The passion grew as I got older and it's not faded.

• Is there a particular type of music or an artist that you could happily listen to on a loop?

  I love R&B music and mostly listen to people like H.E.R, Mahalia, Doja Cat, etc. I love Adele so much and find her to be very inspiring as a singer-songwriter.

• Explain to us the most difficult or 'riveting' lesson you could personally give to one of your students.

  The hardest part about being a singer is finding confidence in yourself and not worrying too much about the outside world and how they will perceive you. I love seeing my students become confident and resilient, finding their own voices.

• What do you think is the most complicated instrument to master and why?

  I do believe all instruments are hard to master because it takes time and dedication to get to a master's level. I don't think I can choose one, all instruments challenge a student and they have to climb that hill, but they will get there with time and effort.

• What are your keys to success (aside from do re mi fa sol ...)?

  Being confident and believing in yourself, knowing that you have worked hard for these achievements. I have way too many students that start with me being too shy to express themselves through music thinking they are not good enough. Also to keep on learning and never stop.

• Name three musicians you dream of meeting on a night out, and explain why.

  Adele, H.E.R, Bruno Mars and Roan Ash

• Provide a valuable anecdote related to music or your days at music school.

  I have one student who is 8 years old, every time we have lessons, he has his three dolls, will him (sonic, Mario and zippy) and we all sing together as a choir. Always makes my heart warm.

• What are the little touches that make you a Superprof in music?

  I think the little thing that makes the most impact is that I am very patient with my students and never force things on them and always try new exercises and keep things fun.
