About Julia
Hi! I’m Julia – and I really love Maths. (Not something you hear every day, I know!) I was a secondary school Maths teacher for over 13 years, including 8 years as Head of Department. I also worked as an AQA examiner, so I know the curriculum inside-out—and exactly what examiners are looking for. In my first year leading a department, we saw a 13% increase in A-C results*, and that improvement held strong through the shift to the new GCSE system. These days, I’m no longer in the classroom – but for the past 3 years, I’ve been tutoring students one-to-one, and I absolutely love it.

And that’s the magic of one-to-one tutoring: I can work with you (or your child), tailoring each session to their strengths, challenges, and learning style. Whether it’s through careful explanation, visual aids, or the occasional kitchen cupboard raid – I’ll find a way to make it click. I’ve even roped in my husband to build hands-on tools when needed. Whatever helps the learning land!
