I believe in a subject like mathematics, each concept is a brick in a wall. If you miss one concept and continue building you have a weak wall. Every concept needs to be understood as everything is linked.

I therefore first find where the problem started in the misunderstanding and build from there.

I explain it and do a few examples with the learner after which ensuring they understand by making them do a few practice sums
