• Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

  Music did not enter my life by chance, it feels like something that has always flowed through my surroundings, quietly shaping me over time. Growing up, I was naturally drawn towards it, but the real turning point came at Banasthali Vidyapith. The environment there was deeply positive, disciplined, and full of constant musical exposure. Performances were not rare events, they were a way of life.
  Being surrounded by so many opportunities to perform made me realise that I didn’t just admire music, I wanted to live it. I enrolled in a certificate course, and within just 14 days, I was able to play pieces like the Aarti and the National Anthem. That early progress gave me a strong sense of connection and confidence with the violin.
  
  What truly shaped my journey was the guidance of my Guruji. He recognised my seriousness early on and invested his time and belief in me. Under his mentorship, music stopped being just a skill, it became a direction. That is when I decided to take this path forward, not just as a learner, but as someone who wants to share and pass it on.

• What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

  My motivation to teach comes first from a deep belief in my ability to simplify things. I’ve always felt that even the most complex musical concepts can be broken down into small, clear steps and when taught according to a student’s individual pace and capacity, anyone can learn meaningfully. Teaching, for me, is not about delivering information, but about making the student feel capable.
  The second and strongest influence is my Guruji. His constant support, encouragement, and the way he valued even my smallest progress shaped my approach completely. He didn’t just teach music he built confidence. I try to carry that same spirit forward in my own teaching.
  
  And beyond all this, music has added immense value to my life emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. If I can help even a few students experience that same depth and transformation, that itself is my biggest motivation to teach.

• How does your work help society?

  My work contributes to society in a very grounded and honest way. I don’t see teaching as a luxury service I keep my fees simply to respect the time and effort involved, not to make it exclusive. This makes learning accessible while still maintaining value.
  More importantly, many students come with a hidden desire to learn music but never get the right push or environment. Through my teaching, I help revive those paused or forgotten dreams and give them a structured path to pursue them again.
  
  Beyond music, I focus a lot on the human aspect. I don’t just teach how to play I also reflect how a person can communicate, behave, and express themselves with clarity and respect. In a way, students don’t just learn an instrument, they grow as individuals.
  
  And somewhere in that journey, a bond naturally forms of trust, guidance, and companionship. If my teaching can bring confidence, emotional balance, and a sense of direction into someone’s life, I believe that itself is a meaningful contribution to society.

• If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

  My role model has always been my Guruji. He is the one who truly helped me absorb and understand music at a deeper level not just as a subject, but as a way of living.
  
  I have learned from other teachers as well, but his approach, dedication, and clarity have always stood apart. The way he teaches, supports, and believes in his students is something I have not found anywhere else.
  
  What makes him my role model is not just his musical knowledge, but his intention. He never just focused on perfection—he focused on growth, patience, and sincerity. He made me feel capable, even in moments of doubt.
  
  In many ways, he has shaped not only my journey in music but also how I see teaching itself. I try to carry forward even a fraction of his values in my own work.

• Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

  Outside teaching, I enjoy staying deeply engaged with people and the world around me. I like observing how people think, behave, and express themselves which often teaches me as much as any formal learning.
  I naturally feel drawn towards community interacting, helping, and being present wherever I can add value. I enjoy exploring new environments and experiences, almost like a butterfly moving from one space to another, always curious and open.
  
  At the same time, I believe in being prepared mentally and emotionally for whatever comes next, while still keeping life light and exciting.
  
  Most importantly, I practice gratitude consciously. Taking time to slow down, reflect, and appreciate things keeps me grounded and relaxed. In many ways, that sense of awareness and gratitude is not just a habit it’s my real hobby.

• Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

  One moment that always stays with me is during orientation sessions at my university, Banasthali Vidyapith. Whenever I perform on the violin for new students, I can literally see the shift in the room people become completely still, attentive, and drawn into the sound.
  What’s interesting is what happens after. Many of those students come up later and enroll in violin classes, saying that something about the performance made them feel connected and curious to learn.
  
  Even in my hostel, this continues in a very natural way. Students often follow the sound of the violin to find where I am playing, and some of them end up starting their own learning journey. My roommate often jokes that she would happily listen to me play all day.
  
  For me, this is more than appreciation it shows how music can naturally attract, connect, and inspire people without forcing anything. It reminds me that teaching doesn’t always begin in a classroom; sometimes it begins in a single moment of connection.
