My background includes studying Chinese in Singapore and staying connected with the language through conversations with my relatives in China and Singapore. My passion for teaching is inspired by my friends who love their teaching careers, which encouraged me to share my own enthusiasm for Chinese. I teach Chinese to children aged 6-12, focusing on building a strong foundation in the language. For beginners, my lessons introduce basic vocabulary, simple phrases, and fundamental grammar through engaging activities and interactive games. This approach helps young learners develop their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in a fun and supportive environment.
For beginners:
- Vocabulary Building: Using flashcards and matching games to learn new words.
- Simple Phrases: Role-playing common scenarios, like ordering food or greeting friends.
- Grammar Practice: Interactive activities to practice basic sentence structures.
For children from Chinese backgrounds:
- Fluency Refinement: Practicing idiomatic expressions and contextual usage through dialogues.
- Pronunciation Improvement: Focused exercises to perfect tone and pronunciation.
- Cultural Understanding: Exploring Chinese festivals (e.g., Chinese New Year) and discussing their traditions and significance.
