I am studying Maths at the University of York and I love my subject because it is exciting to learn about new areas of mathematics and developing and building on the knowledge you have picked up over the years. From previous students, have seen their confidence in maths grow from lesson to lesson, and I hope to do this for more students.

In terms of doing well in mathematics, I believe the key is to have plenty of practice at different types of questions. I will help my students improve by first seeing what level they are currently working at with different topics, and will then teach and build on their knowledge, guiding and challenging them on questions and exercises so that they gain an understanding and confidence, with them eventually tackling past papers. I will measure their progress throughout the lessons in order to push them out of their comfort zone at an appropriate pace. Every one learns at a different speeds and I can adapt and tailor my lessons to each and every single student.
