About Mallory
I'm a professional singer/songwriter in Los Angeles and a guitar player of 16 years. One of my favorite things is helping new guitar players discover their instrument.
When I was first learning, I was simply taught songs without any understanding of WHY the chords fit together. I want to help guitar players understand their instrument so every song builds knowledge rather than memorization.
Whether you're a total beginner, struggling with bar chords, trying to translate by ear more quickly, or just feel a little lost on the fretboard, I would love to be a part of your guitar journey!

As helpful as scales are, I think the best way to build skills is learning songs that students are interested in to build repertoire and music theory comprehension. We won't simply memorize chord sequences, but learn why they sound good together and what patterns we are playing in each song.
We'll get started discussing students' guitar goals and favorite music, then I will build a lesson plan with exercises, songs, and charts for students to get started!
My goal is to empower students to have fun and explore their instrument. It's called PLAYING music for a reason. Let's have fun :)
