About Esethu
Hello! I'm a dedicated Xhosa tutor who is presently working toward a Bachelor of Education with a Xhosa concentration. I bring a wealth of knowledge and useful skills to my lessons, having worked as a Xhosa translator for two years and having two years of practical experience teaching the language.
I work with students of all ages, from those who are just starting out and want to learn their first words to those who are more experienced and want to improve their abilities. In order to make learning engaging and successful, I incorporate a range of teaching techniques, including role-playing, storytelling, and multimedia materials, into my dynamic and interactive lessons. I think it's important to establish a safe space where students can express themselves and interact with the language.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading a lot and learning about other cultures through music and literature. By bringing this same passion to my lessons, I hope to inspire students to relate to Xhosa as a vibrant culture as well as a language. We're going to start an exciting language learning journey together!
