About Jonathan
Hi! I’m Jonathan, a student at Yale University with a strong background in mathematics, science, and standardized test preparation. I enjoy helping students build confidence by breaking down difficult concepts into clear, manageable steps and focusing on problem solving rather than memorization.
I have experience working in rigorous academic and research environments, and I understand both the challenges students face and the strategies that help them succeed. My goal as a tutor is to create a supportive, engaging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, working through challenges, and developing independent thinking skills.

My approach as a tutor focuses on problem solving, critical thinking, and helping students work through challenges independently. Rather than simply giving answers, I guide students step by step so they understand the reasoning behind concepts and build confidence tackling difficult problems on their own.
A typical lesson begins with reviewing problem areas, followed by working through examples together and then practicing similar questions independently. I adapt sessions to each student’s pace and learning style, with an emphasis on developing strong analytical and test-taking skills.
What sets me apart is my ability to explain complex material clearly and patiently while creating an encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions. As a student at Yale University, I have experience with rigorous coursework in mathematics and science and enjoy helping others succeed in these subjects.
My lessons are primarily for middle school, high school, and introductory college students studying math, science, and standardized test preparation, including SAT and AP courses.
