About Erin

I believe a creative approach can help children to gain national at school. If children are not focused or can get bored easily they will sometimes miss valuable facts during school, however if the fun factor is added in a creative way your child will instantly be hooked which enables them to progress and develop their learning even further.

I demonstrate a deep knowledge and understanding of the subjects I teach. I use highly effective questioning and demonstrate understanding of the ways pupils think about subject content. I identify pupils’ common misconceptions and act to ensure they are corrected.

I plan lessons very effectively, making maximum use of lesson time and coordinating lesson resources well.
I provide adequate time for practice to embed the pupils’ knowledge, understanding and skills securely.
I always check pupils’ understanding systematically and effectively in lessons, offering clearly directed and timely support.

I provide pupils with incisive feedback, about what pupils can do to improve their knowledge, understanding and skills.

I am determined that all my pupils achieve well. I encourage pupils to try hard, recognise their efforts and ensure that pupils take pride in all aspects of their work. I have consistently high expectations of all pupils’ attitudes to learning.

Parents are provided with clear and timely information on how well their child is progressing and how well their child is doing in relation to their learning.

I will always create a report for your child when they leave on areas they can work on.

About the lesson

Hello my name is Erin Shakespeare. I am 28 years old and currently have 6 years of teaching experience. I have a 4 year old son, therefore I really understand and can understand when parents want the best for their children. I am currently a KS2 teacher teaching year 4.

I love my job and would now like to take the next step and help children even further with their education.

I believe every child has the right to succeed and with some extra help they can always achieve their goals.

I have 7 years teaching experience and I have taught every year group from reception up to year 6.
I have lots of experience with helping children achieving their results and being national for their age group.

I can teach Maths, English, Phonics, Year 2 and 6 SATs, 11+ Exam Preparation.

If you are considering, or wishing that your child take the 11+ exam in 2020, children will need to be prepared with the relevant skills.

My sessions can get fully booked very quickly with most already full, or nearly full. However, I do have a couple of gaps here and there as I have added in extra sessions. So, in order to guarantee a place, please get in touch as soon as possible.

Throughout the year, I will prepare your child for the exam, covering all of the necessary areas of learning (some of which they will not have covered in school). I make the sessions fun and interactive, ensuring that whatever the final outcome, your child will have received a positive learning experience, and will be well equipped to begin their Secondary School experience with confidence.

Maths and English BOOSTER SESSIONS available
1:1 or group sessions.

If you are concerned that the pace of the new curriculum is causing your child to worry and lose confidence, you may consider joining one of my booster lessons. I run sessions for children from Nursery - Year 6, with small groups of children of similar age and ability or I can do 1:1.

I can also cater for group sessions (of up to 4) Learning with others collaboratively in small groups will enable children to support each other and work together with a shared purpose and confidence so if you know someone else who would be interested then please let them know about this. All work is marked, with feedback given to the children and parents, where necessary.

If you would like to book in, do contact me as soon as possible, as spaces will fill up.

If there is a group session the price will be lower then a 1:1 session.
