About Julian
I’m a passionate history enthusiast with a deep and wide-ranging knowledge of human history, from the ancient civilizations of Egypt, Greece, Rome and Mesopotamia to medieval Europe, the Renaissance, the Age of Exploration, the rise and fall of empires, and the modern world. My interests span virtually every period and region, and I particularly enjoy understanding how different events, cultures and people connect to shape the world we live in today.

Techniques and teaching methodology:
I use a personalised and engaging approach that adapts to each student’s learning style and current ability. I focus on breaking complex historical topics into clear, easy-to-understand concepts, while using timelines, key events, cause-and-effect relationships, source analysis and discussion to build deeper understanding. I also encourage students to ask questions and develop their own arguments rather than simply memorising information.
Typical lesson length:
Lessons are typically 60 minutes, with longer sessions available when needed. I structure each lesson around the student’s goals, covering new content while allowing time for questions, revision and practice.
Qualifications / experience:
I completed Year 12 at a private secondary school, developing a strong academic foundation in History and extensive knowledge across Australian, European and world history. While I am new to formal tutoring, I have strong communication and people skills developed through several customer-facing roles. I am passionate about history and have independently developed extensive knowledge well beyond the standard Year 12 curriculum.

I offer tutoring for any age studying History, including students preparing for assignments, exams and assessments. I can assist students who need help understanding course content, improving essay structure, analysing historical sources, revising for exams or simply developing greater confidence in History.
