About You Jie
I am currently in year 12. I have experience with tutoring and I love teaching especially to younger students. I started playing the piano when I was 5 years old, and have loved it since then. In my previous exams, my results were merit and distinction. I don't play any other instruments, however, I love singing and baking as some of my hobbies.

I want to create an engaging and supportive environment by incorporating a mix of activities linked to their age and attention span. Start with a warm-up, like simple finger exercises or familiar songs, to build confidence and focus. Structure the lesson into short segments, blending technical skills—such as scales or—with fun elements like rhythm games, sight reading, or playing along to a favourite song. I want to encourage creativity by letting them explore the keyboard or compose simple melodies, and end with a small goal or piece to practice at home, ensuring they feel accomplished and motivated for the next lesson. Also can teach grade 1 theory and set homework for the week to increase piano level.
