About Amaya
I’m a 14-year-old student living on the Upper West Side who loves working with young children. I’m patient, responsible, and enjoy helping kids learn and grow. I have teaching experience from a service trip to Ghana, where I worked with children. I’m excited to help kids ages 4–8 with reading, writing, and handwriting!

I am a 14-year-old caring, patient, and enthusiastic tutor who enjoys working with young children and helping them feel confident about learning. I am interested in tutoring children ages 4–8, especially in reading, writing, and handwriting. I believe that learning should be fun, encouraging, and suited to each child’s individual needs and learning style.
I have teaching experience from a service trip to Ghana, where I had the opportunity to work with and teach young children. This experience taught me how important it is to be patient, understanding, and encouraging when helping children learn something new. I enjoyed spending time with the children, helping them with their learning, and making activities enjoyable.
When tutoring, I would be happy to help children practice recognizing letters and words, reading age-appropriate books, forming letters correctly, improving handwriting, spelling, and developing their writing skills. I can also create simple and engaging activities to keep younger children interested and excited to learn.
I am comfortable working with children who are at different skill levels and would take the time to understand what each student needs help with. My goal is not only to help children improve academically, but also to make them feel proud of their progress and more confident in their abilities.
I am responsible, friendly, and excited about the opportunity to work with young children. I would love to help students ages 4–8 build strong foundational skills while making learning a positive experience.
