About Mahira

I’m a 15 year old online tutor with experience in online tutoring and genuinely enjoy seeing how my efforts can help others and aid them in their journey of improvement :)

Knowing how I struggled juggling studying for my SATs in primary school and just being a kid, therefore wishing I had a tutor back then, I understand firsthand how important my role can be to someone else now!

About the lesson

Year 10 student offering weekly tuition for Primary School Children from reception - Year 6!

I scored above average for all my SATs, with full marks in Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation.

I would like to charge about £6-8 an hour for weekend and school holiday services!

I’m a high school/secondary school student, so I can unfortunately not provide tutoring on weekdays however on weekends I have full availability besides Sundays 5pm-7pm. Therefore I also ask for consideration during exam seasons where I might not be able to carry out sessions :(

I have been able to flourish in Secondary School with countless achievements and excellent grades, therefore I believe I would be a great match for your children!

I only provide services within the Greater London borough of Newham :)

I plan on mainly focusing on active recall methods, such as practice questions specifically from past papers so students get used to the format of their exams or blurting/flashcards!

Upon parental request and what level I believe the student is working at, appropriate amounts of Homework will also be set to keep their learning fresh :)

I request that Students keep track of what they are doing in School so we can focus on those particular topics during tutoring as well to ensure they are up to date with their school learning as well.

If a student excels with their studies and ends up a little ahead of their class, I am more than happy to facilitate that by teaching a couple topics ahead, whilst still actively revisiting previous learning to help it reach their long-term memory!

I will also get students to regularly test their knowledge with small quizzes or past exam papers, so I can identify what they might be struggling with - I am always here to listen to the student and help them with any topic they might not understand.

Students will be requested to try different studying techniques at home as well to see what works for them :)
