About Selena
As an experienced educator with over 20 years in the classroom, I am passionate about helping students build both academic skills and confidence in themselves. I believe every student is capable of success when they are given patience, encouragement, and instruction that meets their individual learning style.
My teaching experience includes mathematics, problem-solving, and academic support for students at a variety of levels, from foundational math skills to college-level coursework in statistics and data analytics. In addition to my educational background, I have experience working with data analytics, databases, SQL, and programming concepts, allowing me to support students in both traditional math subjects and modern technology-focused courses.
I strive to create a positive and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes. Many students come to tutoring feeling overwhelmed or discouraged, especially in math-related subjects. My goal is to simplify difficult concepts, explain them in clear and relatable ways, and help students gain the confidence they need to succeed independently.

After many years in education, I understand both the academic and emotional side of learning.
