About Clayton
Teaching is rarely about simply giving answers because the real work happens when a student learns to solve technical problems themselves. Having worked with 292 students over 13 years, I have refined my ability to guide people from their first guitar lesson to advanced performance levels.
My MMus Music Performance degree from the Australian National Academy of Music ensures that every concept I explain is grounded in deep theoretical and practical knowledge. My curriculum covers reading sheet music, rhythm guitar, fingerpicking, and tuning and maintenance.
I also help learners master reading tabs, songwriting, grade exam prep, chord transitions, scales and modes, and power chords. Whether you are a nervous beginner or a seasoned player, I meet you where you stand today. I truly value the connections made through music and enjoy seeing students grow over time.

Pacing is everything. Lessons move at your speed. I rely on my 13 years of experience to adjust the difficulty of scales and modes or power chords based on your real time performance. Because I hold an MMus Music Performance degree, I can quickly identify why a specific chord transition feels difficult and offer a direct fix.
Your progress is monitored with a friendly but firm focus on technical accuracy. I keep things energetic so you stay engaged throughout the hour. You can expect a clear roadmap that simplifies reading tabs and sheet music into manageable steps. My commitment is to keep our time together productive, straightforward, and fun.
