About Harvey
Madrid echoes in my playing every time I pick up the instrument. I arrived in Australia 11 years ago carrying the rhythms of Latin music. Teaching guitar has been my primary focus for 13 years. I work with absolute beginners and kids just starting their journey. Adults and grade exam candidates often find their way to my studio. My degree is a BM Contemporary Music focusing on the guitar. Guitar instruction begins with the weight of the wood against your chest. We establish a clear rhythm before moving into electric technique or complex scales. Tuning and maintenance are treated as essential rituals rather than chores. I incorporate blues progressions and songwriting into the standard grade exam prep curriculum. These concepts draw heavily from my BM Contemporary Music training. You might find the nuance of a single chord takes practice to perfect. I balance these technical demands with the joy of making music. My 13 years of experience ensure we avoid common pitfalls during our time together. A free trial session is available if you wish to assess your starting level first. I simply enjoy sharing the craft that defined my life.
