About Sophie

I am a singing tutor with over 8 years of experience and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Vocal Studies. My work draws deeply from cultural music traditions, exploring the richness of Flamenco, Hindustani Classical, Celtic Folk, and African Spirituals. I believe that every voice carries a story, and I help students discover theirs through music that connects them to culture and history. My lessons include mastering vocal ornamentation, developing microtonal expression, and understanding traditional scales unique to different musical heritages. I also emphasize oral transmission techniques, keeping alive the time-honored ways these traditions have been passed down. Students learn not only how to sing but how to listen — to the music, to their own voice, and to the lineage each song represents. About the lesson
