When I met Mathy I was struggling with creating videos. I felt insecure about my presence on camera. Through working with Mathy I learned that structure of preparing by creating a script, knowing how to set camera and many other tools. Mathy is a POWERHOUSE with an amazing infectuous personality! I first started working with Mathy in 2012 whilst I worked at Puma as an apparel designer. I wanted to get into a more senior position and had become stagnant with limitations to my career growth. I was equally also passionate about ethical fashion, African fashion and sourcing and I had started a blog on Africa and ethical fashion. After I lost my job at Puma through redundancy, I sat down with Mathy and looked at a strategy to find more senior positions in my career, I finally found a role as a lead designer in beachwear at C&A. Still it was not close to my heart and I wasn't completely satisfied. She asked me why I hadn't given myself the opportunity to use my blog as a platform to gain consultancy work and create senior opportunities. I couldn't visualize what she was recommending me to try and kept attending interviews but it was a struggle. I took Mathy's advice started looking at using my blog more indepth to present myself as an expert and consultant. Since I've started my blog I had a number of major events of which Mathy has been a great host and presenter and I finally decided to take the leap into becoming a Fashion consultant.
