About Savannah
I graduated from Tarleton State University in 2021 with my teaching degree in early childhood-6th grade. I am also ESL certified and Science of Teaching Reading certified. I taught 3rd grade reading/writing/social studies for 2 years and last year I switched to 6th grade ELAR. Between my 8 years of experience working with students in the classroom and also being a mom, I have learned to approach each child with a great deal of patience and empathy. No two students learn the same way and it is crucial to adhere to individual learning styles in a tutoring setting to make the most out of our time together. I look forward to much learning, many smiles, and the rapport that I get to build with my students!

Learning should be fun and that's the approach I take when teaching. A typical session with me would look like focussing on a specific skill through the I do, we do, you do method. I will first provide you with a warm up, we will look at an example together with me completing it first, we will do the exercise together, and then you will have the opportunity to do it by yourself. I like to use interactive activities and games as well.
