I am an alumnus of Berklee College of Music and I apply the Berklee method to both guitar and music theory classes. I accompany and motivate my students to develop their own voice and language on the instrument and above all to be musical. The styles that I usually teach are adapted to the needs of the students, but I am specialized in Jazz, Blues, Rock, Argentine Folklore, and Funk. The classes are adapted to all levels from beginners in music and the instrument to advanced levels.

  • 1) When did you first develop a passion for music and your favourite instrument?

From a very young age, I started listening to records of different artists and genres that my parents had at home. My uncle is a great guitarist, and hearing him play motivated me to pick up the guitar and fall in love with it.
  • 2) Is there a particular type of music or artist that you listen to on a loop without it driving you crazy?

I'm currently listening to a wide variety of music. But I especially listen to instrumental music, contemporary jazz, modern jazz, and some classical.
  • 3) Explain to us the most difficult or riveting course you could personally give to a student of music.

Currently, the most challenging and interesting course I'm teaching is advanced improvisation using functional and non-functional harmony. This course serves to apply improvisation to the fullest extent in any musical genre students wish to develop. It also provides students with a comprehensive perspective for growing as musicians.
  • 4) What do you think is the most complicated instrument to master and why?

I've actually tried studying violin and trumpet. The violin seems to me perhaps one of the most complicated and difficult instruments to learn. Tuning and technique require a lot of effort at first. The same goes for the trumpet; the embouchure technique is really complex. I would say that the guitar is quite difficult to master at first, but over time, with practice and perseverance, it becomes very easy.
  • 5) What are your keys to success?

Understanding the instrument deeply, and working hard with responsibility and effort to learn more and more every day. As in other aspects of life, studying an instrument or teaching it requires a deep sense of commitment and motivation to achieve what we want to be successful at.
  • 6) Name three musicians you dream of meeting in your favourite bar in the early hours of the morning. Explain why.

I think if I had to choose three musicians to meet in a bar, they would be my guitar heroes: Kurt Rosenwinkel, John Scofield, and Robben Ford. They're three guitarists who have influenced and motivated me immensely during my years of study, and I always look forward to their releases or tours so I can go hear them. I would ask them about their musical philosophy and how they manage to reinvent and renew themselves every year.
  • 7) Provide a valuable anecdote related to music or your days at music school.

During my time at Berklee College of Music in Boston, I was fortunate enough to form a group with students from all over the world. I was able to form a contemporary music septet with friends from Peru, South Korea, Poland, the USA, Argentina, and France. Being able to share this experience with people from all over the world is perhaps one of the most valuable things the school offers, and being able to study and train alongside them was incredibly important for my musical development. Also, meeting Victor Wooten and Jacob Collier during their residencies at the school was incredible.
  • 8) What are the little touches that make you a Superprof in music?

I work closely with my students to empower them and help them overcome the challenges they set for themselves in music and on their instrument. I try to share my many years of daily experience so they can see that they are capable of achieving their goals. I have a holistic approach that helps my students understand music beyond just the instrument.
