About Douglas
Beginners and advanced pianists often struggle with the gap between practice and performance. Truthfully, I sometimes forget how intimidating a grand piano can look until I see a student hesitate. Having taught for 6 years, I use my Master of Music in Music Performance from Queensland Conservatorium to guide you.
My own musical life started in childhood, shaping my method of building technique without losing the joy of playing. I track your growth in dynamics and expression, rhythm and timing, and chord voicing. We will also master sight transposition, scales and arpeggios, sight playing, hand independence, and proper posture and hand position. My goal is to get you playing comfortably as you reach for your next musical milestone.
