About Bryoni

Hey there!

My name is Bry, and I have a passion for all things in the water.

I have been working with children for 5 years and have been teaching swimming for 150 hours, my passion for teaching has grown through engaging with children's lives and becoming their friends in the process. I believe authority is necessary but so is a fun playful nature in a teacher.

A child should never be scared of an adult but see them with respect and find aspects they want to have too. Playing in the water is the vehicle I use to engage kids into Swimming lessons and realize the water isn't as scary as they may think and is actually a fun and engaging experience.

I'm really into getting the whole family involved and understand what your goals are for your child or yourself. If it is independent swimming and progression into mainstream lessons, my experience can help you move forward. If it is simply water safety near any water body my experience and qualifications will aid this also. If your goal is professional swimming lessons for beginners at a young age or in adulthood I can help you out!

About the lesson

I am an incredibly bubbly, fun loving and determined teacher. I am really good at encouraging young children to see the water as a fun safe environment with the proper care. I have seen parents feel helpless when their child for whatever reason doesn't cooperate in typical swimming lessons and trust me this is okay, that's what I am passionate about and will mould strategies to the individual child. Water safety is of upmost importance for anyone with a young child as without being able to swim, children can easily drown. I believe kids of any manner need to know such vital things and having 5 years of experience with children I know how to deliver effectively. I have over 150 hours of swimming teaching experience with majority being with children aged 2-8. I am a qualified AUSTSWIM Instructor with Working With Children's Check and keep my CPR and First Aid up to date every ear.

I am always willing to help older children too who are wanting to develop their skills to a new level as I was in Squads myself and have competed for my high school in the past.

A typical lesson would be in 1 hour blocks and would include engaging conversations for children, play time, floating skills and deep water awareness. I believe this combination allows children to feel safe and secure with myself while understanding that water isn't as scary as they may believe. Deep water awareness will begin with being comfortable floating in shallow water with and without floatation aid before moving into water deeper then they can stand. Ideally it will be shallow enough for myself to stand as to assist when need be.
