About Alice

Hello, I'm Alice (云锦 is my Chinese name).

I am a native Chinese speaker, and I also studied psychology for two years. That background helps me understand how adults learn a new language—patiently, step by step, without pressure.

My teaching style is relaxed, encouraging, and practical. I focus on real-life conversation, so you can use Chinese immediately. Mistakes are welcome; they are simply part of the journey.

A little about me personally: I love dancing, working out, watching movies, and K-pop dancing. These interests often pop up in my lessons—for example, we might talk about a movie plot, practice dance-related vocabulary, or share workout routines in Chinese. Learning becomes more fun when it connects to what you enjoy.

I am committed to your progress. Every lesson is prepared with clear goals, and I always give you kind but helpful correction. My students describe me as patient, warm, and easy to talk to.

About the lesson

My teaching method:
I focus on practical, everyday Chinese. Instead of memorizing grammar rules, you will learn phrases and sentences you can use immediately – for travel, work, or talking with friends.

My techniques:

Speaking first: Each lesson starts with 5–10 minutes of free conversation.

Repetition & correction: I gently correct your pronunciation and let you repeat until it feels natural.

Real materials: We use menus, screenshots, news headlines, or short videos – whatever keeps it interesting.

Pinyin support: Pinyin is always available, so you don't need to learn characters right away.

A typical 45-minute lesson plan:

Warm-up (5 min): How are you? What did you do today?

Review (5 min): Quick practice of last lesson's key sentences.

New content (20 min): 3–5 new phrases/sentence patterns + role-play.

Practice (10 min): You speak; I listen and correct.

Wrap-up (5 min): Summary and a small homework (e.g., record yourself saying 3 sentences).

No pressure, no perfectionism. Mistakes are part of learning.

Customized lessons – tell me what you need (HSK, business, travel, daily chat), and I prepare accordingly.

Patience and encouragement. I speak slowly and clearly.
