About Stuart

I’m Stuart, Computer Science PhD researcher at University College London (UCL), specialising in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Robotics. I’m also an experienced university tutor who loves helping students make sense of complex technical subjects. Over the past 4 years, I’ve worked as a university teaching assistant, teaching and supporting countless undergraduate and postgraduate students. During this time, I’ve helped students develop their programming skills, understand challenging theoretical concepts and gain confidence in their abilities.  

Alongside teaching, I’m an active researcher and have published papers at top-tier international conferences in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence. My research involves developing and applying cutting-edge AI and robotics techniques, giving me a strong understanding of both the theory and practical applications of the subjects I teach.

Why do I teach?
Having spent years working with university students, I’ve seen how much difference the right explanation can make. I enjoy finding different ways to explain difficult concepts, using practical examples, visual explanations and real-world applications to help students develop a deeper understanding. My philosophy is simple: I don’t want students to just know how to solve a problem. I want them to understand why the solution works.

Whether you’re completely new to programming, struggling with a university Computer Science module, or exploring more advanced topics in AI and robotics, I can adapt my teaching to your level and goals. I aim to make every lesson engaging, approachable and productive. No question is too basic, and I’m always happy to revisit a topic until it clicks.
