About Zhiying

I am a fully qualified teacher, currently teaching main secondary school.

I am a native Mandarin speaker with extensive experience teaching students from a wide range of backgrounds and age groups, from primary school pupils to company directors and professionals. I currently teach at a Chinese school during weekends and have experience conducting Mandarin speaking exam assessments.

My tutoring is tailored to individual needs, whether for business communication, relocation to Mandarin-speaking countries, educational support, or personal development. I also prepare students for HSK examinations, helping them develop confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing Mandarin.

With a patient and supportive teaching style, I focus on building practical communication skills while making lessons engaging, structured, and culturally enriching for learners at all levels.

About the lesson

My Mandarin lessons are designed to be practical, engaging, and enjoyable, helping students use the language confidently in real-life situations. Lessons focus on everyday communication skills, including speaking, listening, reading, and writing, while also introducing Chinese culture in an interactive way.

I tailor lessons to each student’s needs and goals, whether they are learning Mandarin for business, relocation, travel, school support, or HSK exam preparation. Through fun activities, conversations, role play, and structured practice, students develop confidence and fluency in a supportive and encouraging environment.

I was slightly apprehensive about using a tutor recommended on line and did not know what to expect in terms of the quality of the tutorials. However, after 4 one hour sessions I can say that I am extremley pleased with the service provided by Zhiying. During the first session she identified my son's learning needs and set objectives for him to meet and is currently working towards these. . I would definitely recommend Zhiying as a maths tutor. She is an effective teacher and a patient person.

Mrs Zhiying is very patient and finds different ways to explain topics that are not easily understood the first time. After each session my daughter finds that she can tackle even the more complicated questions on that topic. I would recommend Mrs Zhiying and hope she continues to improve our daughter's confidence in maths
