About Manuela

I am a professional teacher with degrees from universities in the USA and Austria. I have been teaching German as a second language since 2001. I specialize in one-on-one classes for adults, using a variety of methods and materials. I have worked for different language schools, as well as self-employed.

About the lesson

My approach is focused on the individual student's learning goals. I give feedback during the class (as requested and needed) and after class. I develop learning goals together with the student and modify strategies as needed during the learning process. I think speaking the target language is essential to a constructive learning experience.

Perfect! Manuela is a fantastic teacher, full of enthusiasm and an absolute joy to work with. She is very well organized (providing great feedback documents with homework and other very helpful resources) and it is obvious she is quite skilled and knowledgable in teaching.

Working with her has really accellerated my learning in German. Her flexible style is wonderful (focusing on the topics that you want to learn) and she provides answers to questions clearly and concisely while always giving a moment after to continue asking questions (rather than moving on, like many other teachers can), while providing additional material in the feedback document to further your understanding.

It is clear she cares a lot, her encouragment and friendlyness have kept me really motivated to keep practicing. I cannot recommend her enough!

Manuela is an absolutely outstanding language teacher. You feel immediately at ease with her which is a huge benefit when trying to actually speak in a language you are just learning. Her coaching is patient, respectful and insightful. Her knowledge of both German and English are very deep which enables her to explain the nuances of German and the differences between German and English clearly and thoroughly. And...she's a lot of fun! I have worked with her for a few months now and my German speaking ability has grown greatly. I absolutely recommend her no matter what your language proficiency is.

My lesson packs are discounted at -5% for 5 lessons, and -10% for 10 lessons. My first lesson of 30 minutes is always free. My cancellation policy is: Free cancellations up until the night before the class. 50% cancellation fee for last-minute cancellations, and 100% cancellation fee for no-show. (I back up my cancellation policy with the same guarantee from my end!)
