About Shanon
I am a 3rd-year Criminology and Social Policy student at the University of Stirling who has always been a bit too much of a studier. Through National Five's and Highers, and within my current modules, I have found the techniques that help me achieve my best result and would love to help others find theirs and learn more.
So far my main modules have consisted of:
-Sociology
-Criminology
-Politics
-Social Policy
-Philosophy
-Education
Within this, I focus and enjoy the following topics most;
-Climate Change
-Political Theory (Marxism, Feminism etc...)
-Inequality
-Social Theory
-Conflict Criminology

I've learnt better with different techniques at different stages in my academic career, so each lesson will be catered for the student. Some key approaches I take include;
- Mind Mapping; for memorising quotes/statistics, learning through summarising content and essay planning
-FlashCards; for memorising quotes/statistics and exam preparation primarily
- Key 'Lists'; for keeping track of important vocab, theory or concepts that the student is both interested in and that is fundamental to their course
-Essay preparation and planning; skills developed and basic structures that are age-appropriate and can be used even in university
-Length of a lesson is negotiable and depends on goals: minimum 1 hour, maximum 3 hours
Lessons are for primarily S3/Year 9 + and do not have to be school-oriented. Alongside school students, those sitting exams in these areas or who want extra prep for/in university are also suited. As well as general knowledge seeking.
