About Cary Wayne
Acting coach for beginning and professional storytellers, actors, speakers, and writers in discovering their unique voice within their narrative, guiding them with purpose and drive. My focus is always on you—exploring the psychology of a scene or room with a clear and direct approach. With over 20 years in the film industry, beyond directing and producing, I've appeared on screen in shows like Justified and Hart of Dixie, as well as films like The Donner Party. I have a deep understanding of story, structure, and how to serve the scene.
Growing up among storytellers and misfits, Method Acting became a natural part of my life—a path to artistry that is both a lifestyle and a deep psychological journey. I found my foundation in the Stanislavski system but eventually made my way to Ivana Chubbuck’s classes, whose desire-based approach resonated with me. Her teachings aligned with Stanislavski's philosophy of continual growth. Over the years, I've integrated lessons from filmmaking and life on set, and I teach acting as an art rooted in joy, discovery, discipline, and wonder, with the aim of fostering transformation and personal growth. My goal is to prepare artists for the realities of the industry while nurturing their creative spirit. While I love seeing students succeed on film and television, my greatest joy is witnessing those moments of discovery and freedom when they truly connect with their craft. Confidence-building for actors and speakers.
I thrive on helping others break down, develop, and fully embody a scene or artistic piece. I believe that everyone has something unique to offer, with untapped talents and abilities waiting to be revealed. Storytelling is woven into our DNA, and I am passionate about coaching and directing students and peers into meaningful roles on television and film. It’s a point of pride and joy for me to see someone transformed and empowered through the process of finding a character, serving the scene, and landing the role.
