As a tutor what is most important is always the students learning and understanding. To make sure that the students can learn and understand new or previous concepts, I take time to explain the why of the problems, not just the how. I find this is helpful instead of just doing problems over and over like a drill. Understanding how to do a problem is easier than remembering how to do one.
