About Zachary
I like to start my saxophone lessons by getting a pretty basic understanding of where the student is at. Typically, depending on this, we start with basic rhythms or the basics of reading sheet music. For my saxophone lessons, after figuring out the students' level of playing, I give them a try to read different pieces. After practicing and figuring out their strengths and weaknesses, I crack down on those and pinpoint the best way to make the student succeed! For my Music Theory lessons, we would start with understanding how chords and balance work, along with key signatures and the staff. Here, I like to try and set up my student to be able to write a short melody after.

I know how to play pretty much every instrument you can find in a normal band, varying from the oboe all the way to the trombone. I've been in the music community for about 7 years, getting various gigs around the area and serving as a teacher's assistant for a few years. I've done a good bit of in-person tutoring before, reaching students from just starting to a grade 2 piece in a month. My biggest accomplishment in the music industry was playing for the New Hampshire All-State Wind Ensemble as first chair Baritone Saxophone.
