About Lizzy
I am a geologist (M.S. & B.S.) with a degree in Portuguese (B.A.) from the University of Texas. I currently work as a translator and reviewer for academics publishing in international journals. I have two years of teaching experience and I have worked with diverse students in the realms of academic and professional development. I have experience with CVs and cover letters, preparation for interviews, presentation in English, and professional conversation. This class is for those who already speak English and want to work or study in an international program.

This class consists of three parts: curriculum development (~ three weeks), cover letter preparation (~ two weeks), and interview practice (~ two weeks). The 30-minute experimental class is an opportunity to talk about your professional / academic desires in English. I will explain each part of the course in detail, and we can decide the best plan for you. You can choose do all parts of the course or choose only the most relevant to you. In the resume classes, we will talk about the types of resumes used in the United States and create a resume that highlights your experience and intellect. In the cover letter classes, you will learn about the cover letter styles used in the US and write a cover letter that highlights your professional interests, talents, and successes. In the interview classes, I will help you prepare for professional questions and practice professional conversation. At the end of all parts, you will have a polished resume and cover letter, as well as the confidence to talk to any recruiter about your professional or academic life.
