About Mike
I am a financial analyst and have been working in banking and corporate finance for 5 years. I have a Masters in Finance in addition to an MBA. I have been tutoring in math and related subjects for over 10 years. I have worked with students from both affluent and disadvantaged neighborhoods, and have found success in both.

I tutor by attempting to work myself out of a job. I know that people learn by connecting new novel information to information that they already understand. I teach through finding what it is that someone knows and trying to figure out the disconnect between what they know and what they don't. I focus on helping them understand the disconnect as a means of learning how to learn. I begin each lesson by gauging a baseline of what the student understands. Then I proceeded to encourage them, and guide them, through the next steps. Being wrong is not a problem. Staying wrong is.
