About Dominic
Hello, I'm Dominic, and I am excited to be your math tutor! Ever since I was a kid, I have always been fascinated by the intricacies of mathematics. Pursuing this fascination, I decided to get my Bachelor of Science in applied mathematics from Virginia Tech. Throughout my studies I have taught students of all ages and abilities, sharpening my expertise and ability to teach complex mathematical subjects to students of all types.

Having taught all sorts of students over the past seven years, I have learned to tailor my teaching style to each individual. With this student-centered approach I will gradually expand your mathematical comfort zone while still maintaining comprehension of the material.
My typical lesson plan revolves around the experiential learning method. First, I start by learning what challenges you most. This lays the groundwork for me to begin walking you through the most challenging issues while explaining the intuition behind it. As your understanding grows, I will gradually remove myself from the process giving helpful hints if needed. By the end of the lesson you will have learned to solve the problem on your own without even realizing it!
Unlike most tutors, I focus on the intuition behind the numbers rather than just skating by on formulas and memorization. I will not move on until you are comfortable building on the material we learn together.
