About Philip
Struggling with intonation or rigid bowing often stems from foundational gaps. Technique requires awareness.
During our time together, we will address sight reading, spiccato, and staccato bowing to refine your performance. My ARCT background informs how I structure these sessions for intermediate learners and those who are self-taught.
We tune by ear, ensuring your instrument vibrates with clarity. Vibrato is introduced as a natural extension of a relaxed hand.
Posture is constantly checked to prevent fatigue. I draw on my 13 years of experience to solve mechanical issues before they become habits. You will find that orchestral playing becomes much more accessible once the basics are secure. We move toward the music you enjoy most.
