My teaching style is relaxed, supportive, and designed to help students develop confidence and creativity in a positive learning environment. I believe that every student has their own unique artistic voice, and I work closely with them to discover and develop their individual style rather than following a rigid, one-size-fits-all approach.
With 27 years of teaching experience, working with students from 6-year-olds through to A Level, I have developed a flexible and engaging approach that helps learners of all abilities achieve their potential. I build positive relationships with my students, encouraging open communication, experimentation, and a genuine enjoyment of the creative process. By understanding each student’s strengths, interests, and ambitions, I can motivate them to produce their very best work.
I tailor projects to match students’ personal interests wherever possible, helping them stay engaged and invested in their learning. Whether a student is exploring art for enjoyment, preparing for examinations, or building a portfolio for further study, I provide individual guidance and support throughout their artistic journey.
My commitment to student success is reflected in my results. I have maintained a 100% pass rate at both GCSE and A Level. At GCSE, 92% of my students achieve grades 7–9, while at A Level, 98% achieve grades A–A*. These outcomes are achieved through a combination of personalised teaching, strong student engagement, and a positive, encouraging learning environment that enables every student to thrive.
