I am a Welsh Artist and Creative Facilitator, with a creative practice of my own at Serf Studio in Leeds. I have a creative research practice and love of learning myself and am excited to share what I know with those excited to develop their creative practice. I have experience in coaching and mentoring creatives through practice and support on funding applications, and am happy to help you thrive.

As an experienced and passionate artist and tutor, I believe in creating a personalised learning journey for each student, tailored to their individual needs and artistic goals. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to refine advanced skills, I design unique lesson plans based on your preferred style of learning, pace, and creative vision. My aim is to inspire creativity, build confidence, and help you develop a strong artistic foundation.
I offer student-centered, project-based learning, where the focus is on exploring what it is that interests the learner.
My teaching methodology is highly adaptive, ensuring every student—whether a visual, auditory, or hands-on learner—feels engaged and supported. Lessons are structured around your personal projects, fostering creativity while providing step-by-step guidance on techniques like sketching, painting, color theory, composition, and more. You are welcome to come to my art studio for lessons in Leeds City Centre, I can visit the student within a 10km distance of Leeds, and I can do online tuition.
I believe in creating a comfortable and encouraging environment that helps each student grow at their own pace. Constructive feedback is given regularly, and I emphasise the importance of experimenting and embracing mistakes as part of the creative process.
A typical lesson lasts an hour, depending on the student's preference and focus level. Each session is a mix of practical instruction, creative exploration, and critical feedback, ensuring you make progress while also enjoying the process. I am flexible with lesson lengths and frequency based on your schedule and goals.
I have a BA in Fine Art from Leeds Arts University, as well as a Foundation Art & Design, along with 7 years of teaching experience. I am currently commencing a MA in Graphic Design. Over the years, I have worked with galleries, managed arts programmes, and exhibitions, and have worked with students of all ages and skill levels, helping them cultivate their artistic talent through personalised instruction. I am proficient in a wide variety of artistic practices, portfolio building, and skills from drawing and painting to digital art, ensuring a well-rounded learning experience.
My art lessons are open to anyone, regardless of age or skill level. Whether you're an absolute beginner looking to get started with the basics, or an advanced student aiming to fine-tune your techniques and style, I can help you achieve your creative ambitions. I offer tailored lessons for children, teens, and adults, including hobbyists, portfolio preparation for art schools, or anyone interested in personal creative development.
