About Jade

An art therapist is trained in both artistic discipline (s) and paramedical discipline. The discipline of the art therapist is therefore its dominant one, but the art therapist can offer other artistic activities; the important thing is not to make a great work of art but to create in order to heal oneself.

I am a young creative artist in performing arts, music, and cinema, trained in lyrical singing during my bachelor's degree at the Institute of Music and Pedagogy in Namur and my master's degree at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Genève in Neuchâtel. I have a great choir experience thanks to the Choraline (youth choir of the opera of La Monnaie), the Maitrise de Paris, and the choir voces desuper as well as the animation of masses, in particular at the cathedral of Brussels and wedding masses. My experience as a comedian and in operas has allowed me great ease on stage and inspiration as an author and director.
A life accident made me encounter the benefits of art on health and I then became passionate about the healing power of creation. Therefore, I trained as a traditional art therapist at meformer and as a modern art therapist by ifortpsy.

* What is modern art therapy? *

Modern art therapy is a paramedical discipline that uses the creative process for therapeutic purposes. It is a holistic medical care that works in relation with the medical professionals. It helps support your recovery by improving your well-being and making you want to get better. Art-therapy does not cure but heals.

Because it uses the creative process to support wellness, this therapy is ideal for people who wish to express themselves other than through speech.

Art therapy is a holistic practice based on what is going well, valuing emotions and feelings. Art monopolizes all parts of our being, mental, physical or social. You will therefore be taken care of in your entirety, according to your tastes, your abilities and your affinities; the art therapist chooses the activities that suit you and that will best help you.

How?

The first session is a preliminary interview that allows us to determine your expectations, together. This will allow me to determine the goal or objectives for the next meetings. It is after this first meeting that the artistic activities begin.
All mediums are possible: drawing, painting, singing, theater, writing, modeling, dance, music, photography ...
The sessions can be given individually, as a couple, as a family or in a group, depending on the objectives targeted for each of you. Each individual session lasts a maximum of 1 hour, and begins and ends with a discussion. Group sessions see their duration increase depending on the number of people.
As art therapy is a tailor-made therapy, the duration of the treatment is quite variable, and you can decide to stop it as soon as you wish.
Artistic material is provided, except for certain musical instruments where it will be necessary to bring your own.
The sessions are protected by professional secrecy.

As an art therapist, I establish a therapeutic goal as well as a therapeutic strategy to achieve it. Assessment and self-assessment tools will allow me to constantly adapt the care so that it is always beneficial and the most appropriate. There is no judgment or interpretation of your works and each activity is based on your tastes, your bodily, memory, emotional and expressive faculties
