About Samantha
Born in Liverpool, England, Samantha Humphreys is an Artist and Educator based in Essex. Her own art practice explores the boundary between the physical and online presence and memory, variations to the state of mind and the conscious and unconscious blurring of the line between work and play. Since the Covid-19 pandemic, Samantha has been focusing on how creativity can facilitate good mental health and wellbeing and has written a series of workshops to explore this. In her role as an educator, Samantha hopes to foster an understanding of the considerable real world value of art education in her learners from the start of their learning journey at whatever stage in life that may be.

I have an MA in Art and Design and a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education Practice and I tailor my lessons to suit the learning styles of students. I teach by demonstration or by doing the task with students. My approach is to focus on using the strengths of each individual as a base to build a solid understanding of the appropriate level of learning. I have written and taught on art degree courses and have a years experience in a secondary school.
